Our meals now come in a new sugarcane pulp tray. It’s stronger, easier to open, and still aligned with our sustainability goals.
For years, we’ve been at the forefront of the ready meal market through the use of an innovative craft-board tray. The Halo Tray helped us cut plastic use by 92% compared to conventional hard plastic.
That was a big step forward when we introduced it, and it made a real difference.
But honestly, we listened to your feedback, and it wasn’t perfect. The film could sometimes lift at the corners. A fork could pierce the lining. And we heard from customers that it wasn’t always easy to open. But, we weren't ready to let go our our commitment to the environment.
So, we’ve upgraded.
The new trays are made from sugarcane pulp, a renewable material that’s recyclable and compostable under the right conditions. They’re more structured, which means a more secure seal and better experience for our customers.
And of course, the meals inside haven’t changed. Same portion size. Same nutritionist-designed goodness. Still the best tasting meals out there.
What’s new:
- A more secure seal that helps extend freshness
- Made from renewable sugarcane pulp
- Easier to recycle (with the liner on)
- Compostable (remove liner first)
- Easier to eat from
- Same size, same flavour-packed food
We’re always working to improve, and this new tray is one more way we’re doing that.
While we're rolling this out, you may get a mix of new trays and old trays in your order, but don't stress they're all filled with the same yummy insides.
